Here Are Some Tips for Quitting Tobacco...
  • Tell your friends and family you're trying to quit. They can be a real support!
  • Set a quit date and once you quit, don't smoke even a puff!
  • Get rid of your cigarettes, lighters, everything!
  • Talk to someone—there is a 24-hour quit-line with counselors who can help you!
    PA Quitline (1-877-724-1090)
  • Do something other than smoking—go for a walk, play a video game, talk to a friend—anything to distract yourself from the urge to pick up a cigarette!
  • If you're feeling stressed, take a shower, read a book or exercise.
  • Drink lots of water!
  • Get yourself a stress ball. Squeeze it to keep your hands busy instead of picking up that
    cigarette.
If you're having a hard time, see your doctor. There are medications that sometimes can be prescribed to help you.
